UTAH LAKE

The story of Utah Lake has been a sad one. Once the jewel in a valley below the towering Wasatch mountain range is now considered by many people to be a cesspool. Many poor decisions by the stewards of the land altered and polluted the lake to a shadow of its former self. I first started looking at the lake with my camera in hand and what I saw agreed more with its majestic past more so than it did with its more recent negative reputation. This project was part of an exploration to understand and appreciate all aspects of this body of water that is so prominent in my front yard. I wanted to explore everything, both the good and the bad.
